Derek graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005. Following graduation, Derek served at the First Court of Appeals in Houston where he worked for a year as a Briefing Attorney for Justice Laura Carter Higley.
Derek joined Franklin, Cardwell and Jones, P.C. in 2006. He handles a wide variety of commercial litigation matters as well as some personal injury matters. In addition to his trial experience, Derek continues to develop his appellate practice. He has represented clients before the Texas Supreme Court and the courts of appeals in Houston, Dallas, and Beaumont.
