
Derek Bauman was born in Tehran, Iran. He lived there for a year and a half, as well as in Yemen for two years. Derek has lived in various parts of Texas ever since. After receiving his undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas in Austin, Derek worked for the Attorney General’s Office in the Child Support Division as he taught English as a Second Language in the evenings.
In 2002, Derek attended the University of Houston Law Center where he graduated cum laude in 2005. Following graduation, Derek served at the First Court of Appeals in Houston where he worked for a year as a Briefing Attorney for Justice Laura Carter Higley. Derek joined Franklin, Cardwell and Jones, P.C. in 2006.
